Student Ideology Project

In an effort to explore the ideological differences between graduate students, I devised a 45-question battery designed to tap a fairly broad variety of policy questions.  Each student answered a 1 for yes and a 0 for no.  I then took the matrix of responses and performed a Bayesian IRT analysis and generated estimates of latent ideology. The resulting ordering is on the left.

Here is the questionnaire.

Here is the code in R.

Legislative Ideology Project

In the coming months, I will be posting data from my current project on legislator preference estimates from the 99 state legislatures and U.S. Congress from 1992-2006 derived from Project VoteSmart's National Political Awareness Test (NPAT).
