I am fascinated by interdisciplinary approaches to music. Theories and concepts recently developed in fields such as Feminist Theory, Gender Politics, Visual Culture, and Philosophy are indispensable in analyzing the influence of politics in artistic endeavors. It is with this versatile approach that I am specializing in twentieth-century American music issues - such as music and politics, American musical theater, and African heritage on American music.
